Okay guys im having problem in transferring the motherboard from my HP Pc to a HAF 922 Case.

See according to the HP website http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...&site=null#N62 my motherboard is a mATX form factor...but according to the measurement given below it is 24.4 cm x 21.5 cm isn't an mATX supposed to be 24 cm x 24cm.The HAF 922 only supports ATX & mATX i hope it fits! tnx in advance :)

I don't know in your case, but many pc makers like HP use proprietary shaped mobos. meaning it might not be useable in any case other than an HP case. If the screw holes don't line up, then you are probably screwed with what you are trying to do.

I've used Gigabyte motherboards that are 24cm x 21cm in size. Still mATX. I find it strange that your HP has a 24cn x 21cm motherboard since they mostly use ASUS mobos and they're 24cm x 24cm. Usually.

It will still fit but you wont be able to use the mounting points on the end that has the 24 pin power connection. Just ensure that when you make the connections on that end that you support the mobo from underneath with your fingers. this will keep the mobo from flexing too much.

im quite a noob at this so some1 will b fitting it in for me...so do i ndta tl him anything?

tell him to be absolutely sure that there are no unused stand-offs touching the board. if there is, it will short causing no-boots or even fucking it up permanent style.

so basically the mobo screws wont reach the holes to which it hasta gt attached cause its shorter ryt?

the 21.5cm side wont reach the standoffs on that edge. it should be ok, but dont put a lot of pressure on that side of board when inserting cables and/or components.

It will probably be fine.

mATX and ATX specify the height of the board. The size of the I/O panel and the number of expansion slots (7 for atx, 4 for matx)

Manufacturers have some variance in terms of the width, however. There are a couple acceptable widths for each form factor. The shorter ones just means that some of the standoffs won't be used.
