chassis fans

for whatever reason my chassis fans (2 fans going into a "y" connector then hooked to my mobo via the three point plug) keep changing speeds from 2000rpms to 4000rpms back to 2000 to 3000 to 1400 to 4000 ect.... they just bounce around and not staying constant weather there's a load or not??


any ideas?

I don't think the mobo connectors are meant for more than 1 fan to be plugged into them, and the rpm detector is getting 2 different rpm signals. Try plugging in a single fan and see if it still fluctuates.
