Changing Thread Titles

Hey Gang,

How come we're not allowed as posters to change the title of our post once it's been posted. I wanted to change the title of

to "FS/FT: Desktop RAM+AMD Opteron 146 S939+eVGA 6800 AGP" but I can't.

You can change it for upto 20 mins after it was created or a mod will happily do it.

Ohh! OK, Up to 20 mins or ask for help. OK. Specially for the FS/FT forum where folks add/remove items, it would be nice to have that as a permanent feature.

We would love to have an exception in the FS/T forum, but it is not an option since the setting in the control panel is a universal one and cannot be changed on a per forum basis. As stated, after the allotted time, the forum mod or an admin will be happy to make the change for you.

It has been our experience over the past 7 years that members will tend to abuse even the most mundane feature. This was the case with thread title changes. Another case of a few ruining it for the majority...it was serverly misused, so we limit it to a 20 minute maximum, works best for us.
