Changing names of MANY files.....

Ok I take a lot of pictures and what not and like to post them on my website. I generally like to name them 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,.....and so on.

But the thing is it wouldnt be so bad if I just had 20 pictures, I usually have hundreds to post.

So here is my question is there a utility/program that will change the name of many files in the sequence?
