Changing hostname from command prompt

Does anyone know of a way to effectively change the hostname in XP (sp2 if it matters) through the command prompt? I've tried pretty much everything I can think of. Someone told me you can through netsh, but wasn't specific and I couldn't find anything that works.

this was supposed to be in networking...and I remember going there instead of here. Reposted in correct forum

How about a thread delete, if any of them want to? This one's useless. Rather, I'll just let it die
