Changing bios settings after new card?

I was going through my bios settings (a7n8x-e with amd 3200+ Barton) in attempt to overclock and see what that was all about, and I saw something in there that said graphics ram or something similar. It was at 64mb and the card I have (6600Gt) is rated at 128mb, out of curiousity I changed it to 128mb and everything boots up fine. What did I do? if anything. Or are they two different things?
