Changing AGP voltage does nothing

I have an ASUS A8V Deluxe and an X800 Pro. The mobo has agp voltage settings of 1.5V and 1.6V. Why is it that running at 1.6V does not help with overclocking at all? I can't overclock more with 1.6V. I don't score higher on benchmarks either. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to change the voltage? BTW, what is the V-link voltage?

v-link is CPU volts, and if you volt mod your card and run the AGP volts at 1.6 then youll notice a better OC.

There is no need to up your AGP volts. That is on the communications between the card & northbridge. And since most people lock their AGP speed at 66Mhz, there is absolutely no need to change AGP volts, its more of a relic from when the AGP and PCI buses couldnt be locked.

Now if you up the volts to your GPU CORE AND you have adequate COOLING you MIGHT increase your overclock.

Is there a way to increase voltage to the core without a volt mod?

For the v-link, it only has 2.5 and 2.6. There is a separate voltage for the cpu.

I have AGP/PCI locked at 66/33. My hard drive don't like it at faster frequencies with the VIA chipset.

What type of bios flash? Flash the card with another video card bios? If so, then flashing my R9550 to a R9600 Pro should have helped me increase my GPU clock but even with a (ZM80C-HP) & Optional Fan (ZM-OP1) I have not been able to achieve much higher clocks. ?

Well, what are your clock speeds anyway?
I only got 468mhz on the core, but 400 (800) on the memory without any mods.
That was with a regular 9600 pro nevertheless, and if I've read most reviews correctly the radeon 9550 is pretty hubbled in many ways, so voltmods may not do much
...and on the same note I thought the 9550 was completely different from the 9600?
disregarding much slower clocks, so how did you use a 9600 bios?

The R9550 stock is (250/200). I was able to achieve 390/270 before the flash. I flashed to R9600 Pro and am only able to achieve (400/290). Not much of an increase. Even with all the cooling I have on it.
