Hello
please tell me what you think about the following:

I want to built a sff pc for my room since my current setup takes too much spece and makes a lot of noise, and I want to use the hardware i already have (can't afford new cpu ram etc...). I have a P4 3,4 ghz, but since I live in a hot place (abient temps are around 40 oC and cpu is 55 oC idle) I can't stand anymore the noise of my pc  . I've found the shuttle xpc SN95G5B barebone very cheap and I think of geting it and make it a decent pc.

What do you guys think. Is it a good idea to make this sff pc using the hardware I already have? Will the cpu be cool enaugh and the system quiet?

Thanks in advance!!

Well, it won't be any quieter.

Quiet PCs are easiest if you start with with low-power components and low ambient temperatures, and your Pentium 4 and 40C room temp don'tt qualify. You still CAN make a quiet PC with high power consumption, but that involves large cases with slow-rotating 120mm fans and quiet powersupplies.

These small cases are loud-as-hell when they have to dissipate large amounts of heat. It will be smaller, but it will not be quiet.
