I have the English version of STALKER but I understand fluent Russian. The English voice overs with the fake Russian accent is very annoying to me and I'd much rather hear it in Russian.

Problem is, it takes me 20 years to read a sentence in Russian so I just need the voice overs changed.

Please tell me this is possible >.<

I'm pretty sure the oblivion lost mod changes the language to Russian.

The Oblivion Lost mod says it only changes a few dialogs to Russian, and that people who want full Russian should use the "Russian localization patch". That seems to imply the official Russian patches will work and convert the English version into the Russian version, but I'm not sure about that.

I gather that means these:
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl Patch v1.0005 (Russian)
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl Patch 1.0005 to 1.0006 (Russian)

As to whether this will work on the English version, I found a quote in this thread that says: "Hey guys it works okay by itself on the 1.0005 patch. Just be sure to delete the localization.ltx before you try it." I think that's referring to the Arsenal mod, but perhaps deleting localization.ltx (or modifying it?) may allow the English version to be patched with the Russian patch.

Thanks for the info!

I tried getting the Russian 1.0006 patch (I installed the game a few hours ago and already patched it up with the English 1.0006 prior =/), but when I launch the patch installer it gives me an error in weird characters that I can't read (because I don't have cyrillic fonts installed). So I can't patch it up for some reason to the Russian version

When you find the solution to this, let me know. I'm fluent in Russian as well. :)

I can't experiment with this myself, but what I would try next is reinstall the game without using the English patches and run the Russian patches. If that doesn't work, try deleting the localization.ltx file.

Not having Cyrillic fonts installed sounds like something you should fix if you want to get anywhere with this. I don't know what you need to do, though.
