Change boot disk without re-installing Windows?

I just received an SSD that I want to use as my primary boot drive. My question is, can I just copy everything over from my main boot drive now over to my SSD and boot right into Windows 7 from that SSD? I basically want to clone my drive over to my SSD and boot straight from the SSD. Would copying and dragging everything over all at once work?
 
You need to use something like Clonezilla via PartedMagic or UBCD to "clone" your old HDD to your SSD with automatic resizing. After you do this, you will more than likely need to boot off of your Windows 7 CD to run the repair tools (very easy, doesn't take more than 5 minutes). After that, you're good to go!

If your SSD is bigger than your HDD, you don't necessarily have to worry about automatic resizing of the partition when cloning, but you will want to size it up to the total available and usable capacity of your SSD after you get things taken care of and working. If your SSD is smaller than your HDD, some tools out there are too basic to know how to handle cloning a larger drive to a smaller drive, and will refuse to do work. Clonezilla and a couple other tools bundled on PartedMagic and UBCD support doing this.
