Why is it so hard to find this card on their website? Does anyone have a link to the vista drivers (if they exist) for this card? As of now, my bass and front two speakers work with the vista drivers that come with the OS. No center channel, no rear speaker sound.

Driver works, but i still can't get sound out of my 5.1 speaker setup. Only left/right and bass work. Any idea?

I just got the card and was having the same issues. Everyone everywhere that I've searched has the problem or has a different solution. None of which worked.

Heres my setup currently:
In the "audio deck" i have 5.1 selected and spdif out enabled.
i have ac3 or pcm with auto selection.
THE SPEAKER TEST WITHIN THE PROGRAM DOESN'T WORK!!!
I have nero installed as well. This is a big factor in WMP but i'll get to that later.

I have only tested using WMP11 and a dvd.

who knows what else I did to screw stuff up but this is what i got:

in windows media player open the options window.
In the devices tab select speakers and click the properties button. On my system this open the "speaker properties" window. Make sure the audio device to use: is DirectSound: Envy24 Family Audio (WDM).

There is also just a DirectSound option, but this does not work for me.

After that is selected click ok.

Now here is where nero either is messing things up for me, or where it is the solution:

In the DVD tab of the options window click the advanced... button.
This opens a properties window for the nero audio decoder filter. In teh Properties tab select SPDIF under Output Audio Channels.

Everything works for me!

If you don't have nero (this the last release of version 6 that i am on) get it. AC3 filter will probably do a similar job however.

This only works if you have nero, are using windows media player 11, on xp with the chaintech card however....
