I have a Chaintech 5200XT sitting in my room. my mobo and other stuff to finish up my computer are on the way. but what i want to know is am i really going to be able to enjoy doom3 or should i scrap my card and get something better?

You should be able to do gaming at 640x480 with low quality which still looks very good.

Ouch, the XT has the 64 bit memory interface. It won't be pretty, but it will *run*

According to HardOCP, Doom 3 can be played enjoyably even on an mx4400 with everything on super low. You could get by, but really it's probably time to pony up and get a new one.

Look at his post history about anything regarding doom 3, haha.

edit:

so its time to get a new card eh. well shit. cause i am only gona play at 800x600 minimum. nothing less. and i want at least medium quality. time for a 9800 pro or xt.

Yeah, put up the money for a 9800 Pro, it'll be much worth it. In fact, I think it'll be a totally different experience with it (don't get the 9800 XT, it's overpriced).
