What's your view on AS Ceramique? I've read a lot of reviews that say it's not worth the tube it's packaged in, but I got a bit of a shock today. Thought I'd try it just for sh!ts and giggles, and I went from ~55 deg C idle with plain ol' white goop to 36 with Ceramique (and an extra 200MHz into the bargain). Surely it can't be that good....can it?

Its works better than the old goop on my tbird. Not sure comapred to the real silver stuff. My barton is either a crappy one or my cooling sucks. Got a Volcano XI Xaser edition using the ceramique and my temps hover from 40-45C. I'll prollypick up some AS 5 for the watercooling setup I'm buying sunday.

That test shows the AS Ceramique as being *better* than AS5, and I think there are others showing the same thing. My experiences with it have been nothing but positive. I don't have any direct comparison results, but the best part about it is that it's non-conductive(I think...don't go testing this on your cpu packaging :p lol)

Another thing to keep in mind(that I think a lot of people don't) is that according to AS, ceramique requires about 100 hours of break-in time to reach peak efficiency. I noticed my temperatures gradually drop from 35 down to 33'C at idle and from 41 to 38'C at full load over the course of a few days.

i like ceramique personally. it's cheap and it works really well. (it'd damn well better, i just bought a 22gram tube to replace the small one i lost)

Thanks for the feedback guys....I have to say there was a case swap involved too - I went from an old Chieftec to a Lian Li 6016 (basically a PC60 with a fancy fascia), and cleaned up my wires too. I was half asleep when I posted...

GOOD, because I was going to have to say that you must've really borked your initial HSF install! :D
