I have the 590, and I can put pretty much any fan combo I want. What I have is 4 Scythe Kaze Maru 140mm 500rpm (the slow ones). I can put 2 in the front for intake, 2 on top for exhaust no problem. Should I still use the 120mm exhaust on the case? Should I add additional intake through the side panel (can hold 2 more 140mm), especially over the VGA area? I'll find a good pic to show,

Just look at NewEgg's pics as they're the best I can find.

I was looking at this more. Will I have decent flow if I use a 140 in the front, and one on the side for intakes, then the 2 at the top for exhaust. I would guess that I should put the 120 in the rear to promote a negative pressure. I want to only use one intake on the front to allow space for my second optical drive.

Here are some pics to give you some idea of the space you can work with in the CM590 (I am using low speed Yate Loons leds):

Sounds good to me.

The more I look at this, the more I think this will fly the best. I hate over-analyzing everything. It's so much easier to setup someone else's stuff, but when it comes to my own, I tend to second guess myself. I just hope I don't have any clearance issues between cooler and side fan. Find out soon enough.

Not to take this off-topic, but I'm curious as to how you mounted your front fans? I know one can go on the hard drive cage, but how did you mount the second one? I'm just curious because I'm getting a 590 in a week and I've heard that the case has no mounting options for additional front fans unless you get more HDD cages. I was thinking zip-ties, but that would look tacky and I'm going for a very clean look with this build.

I just got a 590 at Fry's Electronics, same price as egg. I did a simple mod and added some high quality 3M filtration for my case so no dust can get into me case... For me, quality directional air is more important than flow everywhere air filled with dust and furs(I have lots cats)

Reason I got this case is because my new 9800gtx+ won't fit into my old Antec case... :( This case's design is average, not too bad and definitley not excellent, the only advantage to this case is it's really spacious for a mid tower, and it's got lots of 120mm openings for you to add fans.

I decided to use 4 120mm fans. 2 on leftside blowing on the gpu and cpu (with 3M filter), one in the front blow on hard drive (already have some foam filter on the front, so I did not bother install 3M on front), and finally one on the rear to expel all the sucked in air (no filter because air is going out). I blocked top 2 opening and right small opening by using painter's tape. This way air flow is highly directed.

I'll upload some pic of my ugly filter mod if I have a chance...
