i really like this case. for a relatively inexpensive case, i'm very happy with it.

on to the question. i am about to basically tear my machine apart, clean it up and reassemble with some new parts. i just noticed this thread in the comments section on newegg which is a cause for concern....

Cons: The two connectors from the front I/O panel that are 1 IEEE1394 and 1 USB (which is two wires bundled together supporting two USB ports) are actually both labeled USB, meaning you could potentially hook your IEEE1394 connector to your motherboards internal USB I/O which is clearly stated in the coolermaster user's maual as being dangerous. "Never connect a USB cable to a 1394 connector, doing so will damage the device" same goes for connecting a 1394 cable to a USB connector. The "device" in question would be your motherboard so if you experienced motherboard failure after using this case you should check it out. I suspect the physically larger and thicker of the two cables labeled "USB" is the IEEE1394 cable.

apparently, i guessed right with my initial setup because i've had no problems and all of the front I/O ports work fine. i don't recall noticing both connectors being labeled the same...is there an easy way to tell one from the other if in fact they are?

anyone else use this case?

I have a Centurion 5 and they are clearly marked differently(did a build in it last night), IEEE 1394 and USB same with the audio. Might be an issue with some of the newer ones? well an easy way to tell the usb one should have 2 lines going into it and the 1394 should only have one.

The thicker cable is definitely for FW. Most USB front panel connectors have two bundled cables instead of one.

Mine are labeled properly as well. That person was probably just the victim of a random error.
