has anyone heard anything about the Centrino? is it good bad or neither?
thanks

Well, it's been out for a long time, maybe even a year.

You can also go to Google, and search for several of the million plus reviews of Centrino.

It's good if you value battery consumption.
It's good if you value good performance.

It's not the very best performer of the mobile processors, but its performance per hour of battery life is unmatched.

The Centrino name guarantees that you will get the Pentium M processor and a built-in Intel wireless chipset for wireless networking and Internet.

I'm sure you can search Google if you want some more background. Otherwise, we can answer specific questions...

Also the 855 chipset... All three make up the Centrino platform.

O and about the MP 2800, strange that they would put it that much higher. It should be right below the 3200+ as it is a Barton core at 2.13GHz and a 266MHz bus.
