If you are looking for a way to mount your center channel speaker keep reading!

I recently decided to upgrade from my logitech computer speakers to some *real* speakers and a receiver. I am a fan of paradigm speakers and I had a pair of titans laying around so I picked up a center channel and a nice receiver and went to work.

The problem I found was that I did not have a decent place for the center channel speaker. The westy 37 was too big to put on top of the speaker, not to mention it looked aweful. also, I did not want to mount the speaker on the wall. I wasn't left with many choices. I had trouble finding anyone who was in the same situation as me. It seems that most people are okay with the crappy overpriced computer speakers.

I found that vantage point makes a center channel mounting system:

However, you must use a Vantage Point wall mount to use the speaker mount. So I purchased a tilting wall mount. I figured I would use the Vesa mounting plate to mount the speaker, and not actually mount the monitor to the wall.

For around $65 I had the right hardware for the job. I was worried that my center channel was going to be too heavy for this mounting system. It was 17 lbs and the mount is rated for 15 lbs. But I was determined to give it a shot.

I am happy to report that these products worked great mounting my speaker to my monitor. The wieght is not a problem and I think the steel poles could support even more weight easily. The only challenge was that the screws to mount the plate to the monitor were a little long so I had to go to lowes and buy some shorter screws.

I hope this helps someone who is in the same boat as me.

I had a problem trying to figure out how to mount my center channel above my monitor, but I made a mount out of old futon parts i found, an ATI Remote Wonder box, and of course, duct tape.

Works like a charm, though yours may potentially be more elegant.
