I live in the middle of nowhere, though there is semi-decent cell service at my house.
My question is, would it be possible/practical to replace my dial up connection with a internet capable cell phone, and the appropriate data cable? I'm specifically talking about T-mobile T-zones (the best coverage in my area is T-Mobile).

From my experience stick with your dial-up connection. It will save you money, and time. Just wait for a proper broadband service to come to you.

Have you ever tried to load a web page on a cell phone!?

That should answer your question.

T-Mobile Sidekick 2

Works very well when the connection is strong. Just recently added Java support. I useit mainly for visiting news sites and it's not exactly the fastest, but compared to other devices the screen is nice, and having AIM available on a full QWERTY keyboard is great.
