True. Except if the motherboard is made by Intel, which cannot be set to overclock by more than 4% over the stock FSB speedSir-Fragalot said:I've got a 2.5GHz Celery that goes to 3.0GHz on just about any crappy board you can find. Thus, a 400FSB Celeron (Chubberon) cannot be set to any FSB above 104MHz (equivalent to 416FSB) on any Intel-brand motherboard.

while your at it, posts your results for shits and grins
acascianelli said:id take the celeron, the p4 doesnt have HT, and runs at the same bus speed as the celeron, the only advangate is that it has 512kb of cache vs 128kb. but youll be able to overclock the celeron ALOT higher than the p4 so the speed should outweight the less cache.

i would give the celeron a shot and see if it gets the job done any better/worst than the P4 chi

they have benchmarks with a celeron running at 3.15ghz in them, as you can see it can hang with a p4 2.26b in most benchs and even some are as fast as a p4 2.8. that p4 1.8 will probobly overclock to about 2.3 or so ghz, so theyd be about even, but the celeron @ 3+ghz will beat it in some things.
