Oh no, what will we do? Ashton Kutcher has threatened to stop Twittering. Ummm, raise your hand if you care (please keep it there until our security can escort your weird ass off the property). :D

Kutcher used Twitter to post a link to a news report about the partnership along with this message: "Wow I hope this isn't true. I really don't like being sold out. May have to take a twitter hiatus."

I care more about how much lint is currently gathered in my navel than a celeb's twitter postings.
 
The people at tweeter are making a contest to get multiple people to stalk these people. Who ever stalks the best wins something. That is messed up. I know they are celeberties. They do to. If they let something like this happen the real stalkers taking pictures of them will go to lengths they have never been before. It would be the end of their privacy if they participated in this...:(
 
Yea I gotta say Twitter is inherently stalkerish. Nobody needs to be that updated about anyone else's small everyday things. Especially people you don't even know. Creepy by nature.
 
They're celebrities. They neither have nor deserve any privacy rights.

Twitter is stupid. A good time killer, sure, and fun for high school students (although I personally don't find any entertainment in it), but in the end, nobody really cares.
 
I really don't understand the recent phenomenal surge in the popularity of twitter.

I also really am sick of hearing about it.

If someone really needs to know what I'm doing RIGHT NOW, they could just call or text me.

Seeing as how people don't even do that much, it only tells me something I already know that the people on twitter don't know about themselves - NOBODY CARES.

It should've stopped at Myspace. As for communications? It should've stopped at IMs and phone texting.

Do I twitter? No. Do I care if he stops twittering? No. Are his reasons sound and just and make sense given the current situation? Yes.

It's possible I could care about his personal safety, but I don't want to exert the effort needed.
 
Man you guys are brutal. Stereotypical of why the country is in its current state. People talk without understanding what they're talking about. While I acknowledge that the whole original basis for Twitter and its assumed use is pretty pointless and very pathetic, the service itself is actually quite good. No, it's not about following what any given person is doing at any given time. As has been stated, who cares? But Twitter does have many great uses. Some things I use Twitter for:

#1 Following Baltimore Ravens news for updates on draft choices, mini camps, contract signings, general football news
#2 Following local entertainment group to keep up with bar crawls, food offers, and entertainment around the city
#3 Following a casino for its comps, shows, and general offers
#4 Search for real-time updates for current events/problems. Last week GMail and Google were acting up. Searched Twitter and realized others were having the problem in my area. Didn't have to search fifteen tech forums to find out it was a localized problem.

It's a great way to aggregate a ton of information that you may find useful. It's like Facebook, but without the BS applications and focus on being personal.
 
i use twitter but i use it to follow it breaking news and current topics

i even implemented in to the website as a tool to do a quick update. if i am so inclined.

also some of the future applications of twitter look promising .

but the current trend of trying to get as many followers as possible and celeb bull crap is disheartening.

i hate these social whores (mainly because i am a anti social bastard who would rather see em all shot in the head but that's another story)

but if this celeb wants to leave twitter good for him his tweets does nothing for the service.

and hopefully the evolving twitter search engines will the better for it.

I tried to find some celebs and see their writings but this thing is full of fake celebs you just can’t know the real one, anyway they have a boring life, what could they write about other than walking the dog?! :D
