Cebit2008 lian li new case

Congratulations to Lian Li on producing a self contained data center system.

Jeeze.. You would need extentions in order to connect the hard drive power connector thinggies... I'm sure that's taller than my wife. ;)

Thinking on it, I really want something in those pics for scale... like a Coke can or something. I mean, it's tall sure, but only about as tall as a mid tower with a Vapochill sitting under it, I think?

I'd be afraid a case that tall would get knocked over by my stupid 30lbs. house cat. I also can't stand doors on the front of most cases. A door that big is just silly, not to mention ugly.

I don't think thats a door, look at the 2 5.25" drive bays on the side of the case.

The optical bays are on the side of the case.

There's another LILI case that does that, one of those small, cube cases.

The hideousness of that case will haunt my dreams.

I wish there was someone at LL that spoke English well and would post on here similar to EVGA. We could have some awesome cases because I'm assuming that some of the designers at LL do infact smoke marijuana and/or drink heavily.

What market could they possible have designed this case for? I damn sure wouldn't want that thing in my house or at my computer shop. Then on the other hand, the PC-A17B is just about the best looking case I'd ever seen, in the top 5 at the very least.

Well, Dan, it doesn't have a door.. I guess the proper way to set this case up would be to have it flat against the wall with the optical drives facing away fromthe wall, and the back i/o shield/wires exiting to the left... Then again i wouldn't buy this case.. To tall and expensive (probably)

...yeah, but the front is the only part that looks good. So I should have it to the left of my desk, and pretty much have to stand up to use the optical drives? Genius design decision award on that one.

To each their own. I think that's retarded.

I guess that Lian Li decided they needed a test model filing cabinet to go along with their desk line. I love how there is 8ft worth of cables leading from the USB ports to where the motherboard should be.

I guess it could be seen as an advantage the the case is relatively short (front to back). Still though... *shudders*

Looks like a winner case to me. Tall case, but short.

Looks like it might replace my TJ07 (I like the orientation of the 5.25 bays)

Good god. I don't know what will keep me awake tonight, this dark obelisk of death, or Dan's 30 lb monster housecat.

Looks like a winner, just like that snail-shaped case they brought out a while ago... :D

Here he is:

What's funny is my other cat is almost full grown and she's still kitten sized. The exact opposite of Zeus.

Like the black guts, thats a different thing for LiLi. Like this case for a server possibly, but u know the price will be $400.00 US.

Not to rain on everyone's Lian Li parade here, but what's the big deal regarding this case? I know it's a Lian Li, and Lian Li cases scream quality, yet I just don't see what the big deal is; am I missing something here? I for one I'm not a fan of Lian Li cases as I prefer crazy looking "Gamer" themed cases. I guess I'm just different.

uhhh, the big deal is just that, its big...LOL

You came to the wrong thread for raining on Lian Li parades anyway.

Good looking case, but I don't think it would fit in my space because the optical drives are on the side.

He doesn't look that big to me. Then again, my cat is a few over 20lb, so I'm used to an above-average sized kitty :).

That's a pretty good sized cat. I've seen bulkier cats, but none that were of typical or common breeds and are as long as he is. When stretched out he is longer than three feet. He goes up past the door knobs when he stretches on the door frame.

I love that case... it makes great sense from the cooling standpoint. Stack all the components on top rather than front to back, so each component gets fresh, cool air across it. I made an acrylic case like that years ago... but all the fans went from bottom to top (inlets on the bottom, blowholes up top w/ PSU). Dont know about the side facing opticals, but it will do...

Lian Li case keep getting taller and taller every released. Soon there will be a life size full tower as tall as a human.

The shorter footprint excludes the larger water cooling setups- a reason to even look at this case. I think what they are trying to do is come out with a different approach to component placement and footprint size to improve your desk realestate. I give them credit for trying to be innovative.

It doesn't seem to have very much in the way of expandability department for as tall as it is.
