I am trying to boot from my cd rom. I got 3 different image files with msdos and other tools and burned it with nero bootable cd, but no dice. Already killed three cds

Anyone has a proper image file to burn it with nero and boot into dos, letting me access harddrive and cd rom?

I don't have a floppy drive

have you made sure "boot from cd/dvd drive" is listed as #1 in the boot order in your bios?

Yea, the problem is with the images, the ones I tried don't seem to work. Only one booted into dos and it wouldn't detect other drives

Most images are made for floppy, was hoping someone had compiled a good one for a cdboot

What is the built in image?
When I click burn cd-rom boot, there are two options

To burn the same as a bootdisk in a floppy (I don't have a floppy drive)

Or to burn from an image file, which is what I am trying to get.

If I'm missing something please let me know

On the setup screen for making a bootable CD, you should have some choices of where to get the boot image from, and it should have options for using ones included with Nero. I'm using Nero 8 at the moment, and it defaults to using Nero's included DosBootImage.ima file. You probably can download other .ima files from BootDisk.com, if need be.

Ahh thanks man

My nero install did not default to that image, so I just searched it and browsed for it

Gonna see if it worked

As far as I am aware, this is a Nero 8 thing. Nero 7 and before didn't have the built in image (at least not on either of my Nero 7 or Nero 6 installs)

Nero 7 included them as well. I don't remember if it had CD-ROM access or not, but it did include basic DOS boot files. I used to use it for my Ghost discs. I'd make a bootable disc with ghost.exe and the imagename.gho files on a DVD.
