cd burner

i dunno if im putting this in the right section but ....

im having trouble with burning cd's, when ever i do one, my computer freezes for like 30 secs then unfreezes for like 15 sec then it repeats. i try to turn it off but does not respond and tryign to open the cd drive doesnt help.. i have tried reinstalling my software doesnt help. so if you have a solution you can give any would be nice.

Make sure you have bios correctly configured, chipset drivers installed, aspi layer up to date, and drives running in dma mode (see that in device manager)
