CD Burner Experience?

i've had my 40x12x48 for over 2 years now, burned god knows how many cd's. haven't had a coaster or bad burn with it.

Cannot complain about either brand. I still have a Plex 12/10/32A (bought on the first day I could get my hands on one)in my backup system that still works flawlessly.

Lite-On is my usual go to CD burner in my customers systems and I have no complaints so far. Best bang for the buck as far as I can tell.

I use both, but generally always had better luck with Plextor. I've got three of them right now ranging from 4x up to 48x and never had any problems with any of them I've had. Lite-On's are good drives for the price, but I've had two out of four optical drives from them crap out under heavy usage that the Plextors handled with ease. If you can pony up $60 for a Plextor drive it's well worth the extra money in my opinion.

LiteOn drives are an incredable value. i've never had a problem with one.

Plextor drives are VERY nice, but they carry a price premium with the name.

^^Heh, 60$ for a Plextor CDRW drive, when OM were selling NEC DVD+/-RW drives for 50$. Seems a little overpriced :p
Lite-On 52327S, 37$ shipped from the Egg.. awesome drive.
