Ok there appears to be very mixed reactions as to whether there are more fans to ATi's CCC or to CP?

So i think one thing is clear and we all want...
We like CCC but we demand the following:
- To work without the need of .NET
- Use hell of alot less system resources
- Load ALOT quicker

i dont think we are going to have a choice anymore apparently CAT 5.9 and above wont come with the basic control panel and we have to use CCC, but the damn thing take forever to freaking load.....i dont mind the .net framework, i have to have it anyways for VB.net and VB 2k5
EDIT: is there any reason why you say no .net?

Have you guys tried the new CCC? It doesnt take almost any time to load on my setup and thats with my puny proc.

The CCC in the Cat 5.8's runs very fast and bug free for me. Less resource usage too. And some shut down issues I was having with the cat 5.6's are gone. Very nice, ty ATI.

-CCC was written in .net so it will not be available w/o it.
-Current Release of CCC uses almost no resources, so I'm not sure what the problem is there.
-Load times are instant for me *running P4 3.0, Wifes PC nothing special*

Oh... cause im using CCC 5.7!

But look at the poll, thus far!
10 people fo CCC
21 for CP

I mean damn... why's that?

The CCC actually loads up a lot faster now in the 5.8 drivers. I dont' mind using it anymore. I don't like ATItraytools a whole lot. A lot of options, but it gets annoying to customize that much shit, no thanks. I don't prefer the CCC, I just use it now. I do however use the little ATI tool option in sys tray to change my AA/AF settings really quick, that's about all I do.
