CCC Question?

I just recently installed an AIW 800XT card and installed the 6.7`s along with the CCC in the bundle from ATI.

When I open the CCC I do NOT have the Performance tab under the VPU Recover tab.

What version of the CCC has the performance tab to access the CCC Overdrive function for monitoring the gpu temp and the clock speeds?

Thanks for any replys.

thats weird.. I have the same drivers and the tab is available.. keep looking.

What model ati card do you have? Maybe it has something to do with this AIW 800XT I just installed !

I have a x1900gt.
CCC is the same for every card though. If the card doesn't have the featuers (like if you are running a radion 7500, where there is no AA etc, it is just greyed out.

Get out of basic mode and go to advanced mode on the tabs on the top left of the panel.

I am in the advanced mode and the last option tab on the left at the bottom is the VPU RECOVER. Their is no performance or overdrive tab.

Obviously not !

Nowhere on ATI`s website does it depict which cards are supported and which are not.

The only card mentioned on their site is that ATI engineering is investigating why the Overdrive aspect Tab is missing on the x850XT Platinum Edition card. I could find nothing in regards to the overdrive tab being supported or not on the AIW x800XT card.

I simply wanted to be able to compare the gpu core temp with another program and the only one I could get to work that shows the gpu core temp with this card is ATI TOOL TRAYS and it shows 42C in the tray at idle.

do you have the ati services running? (not CLI.exe)

Overdrive requires that the ATI Smart service to be running before you can use overdrive. However, I have mine disabled and it still shows the tab, though I'm running an X850xt.

Also, what brand of X800XT AIW? I had a 9600xt back in the day made by asus, and though the XT cards were supposed to support overdrive, the asus one i had did not.

The brand is ATI Retail AIW 800XT purchased from CompUsa last week.

Where do you go to see if ATI Smart service is running?

services.msc via the Run window.

There should be two ATi processes listed. Make sure both are set to Automatic, and ensure that both are running.

phide, the two services you are speaking of are the ATI Hotkey poller & the ATI Smart.

I have the ATI Hotkey running and in automatic, and the ATI Smart is in automatic but only runs when it is needed, so it doesn`t show started or stopped.

I don`t beleive either one of these have anything to do with the overdrive function not being present in the CCC, in the AIWX800XT card. But I could be wrong ! The below article does mention that if you disable the HotKeys poller it could prevent the Overdrive tab from working in 9800XT cards.

Read below:

I realize the author of this article is discussing the ATI Control Panel and not the new CCC, but I don`t think their is any difference in relation to these two added programs.

Looks to me like you don`t really need either one of these services running unless you use the Hot Keys and I sure don`t.

I was told by a member over at Driverheaven that no AIW cards have the Overdrive tab support.
