CCC, auto-deinterlacing keeps reseting

I found I had to set the deinterlacer to adaptive in order for some of my .avi's to play in WMC, having it on automatic isn't a problem elsewhere, but i do like WMC. the prob is that everytime i set deinterlacing to adaptive, at some point in the near future it resets to automatic. i'm assuming that i'm running another program that somehow switches it to automatic, or that it's a game doing it. is there any way to stop it? it's really annoying to have to constantly redo it, kinda takes away the convenience factor of the Green Button.
