I've been having intermittent artifact problems on my PC forever, I have finally concluded that it was in fact my graphics card, most likely a problem with the ram on it. So I went onto the HIS website (my card is a 9800pro Iceq 128mb) to try and send a technical support request, it asked for my serial number i typed it in, and it tells me I have a bad serial number. Now perhaps that was the wrong number, and so i pulled the card out, and wrote down every number on the card double and triple checking each one to be sure I had it right, put the card back in, went back to the website and tried every each and all of those numbers none of them worked. I did not buy my card on the black market or anything like that, I got it off newegg.com which interestingly enough no longer offers the Iceq cards.
After realizing i was getting no where in the technical support section I sent a general request explaining my situation, and requesting to be contacted via email. This was months ago, I have since sent 3 other general requests with NO reply.
This was mostly meant as a rant and caution, but if anyone has any suggestions I am most definitely open to them.
