I'm moving all my network gear and I figures I might as well run new cabling while I'm at it. So I decided to upgrade all the in wall to CAT6. But before I buy an cabling I was wondering if stranded or solid wire is better and what the difference is?

Usually solid is used for doing runs. Stranded is used to make shorter patch cables...usually pre-made because the ends are commonly different for stranded...more difficult to properly crimp.

For making your own solid is the only way to go IMO.

Stranded is a PITA to crimp a lot of the time.
