Cathode Inverter Burned Out!

Help. I installed a cathode (coolermaster) and after only a few hours... it burned out! Well, the inverter did. But I think the cathode is still fine. The PC was acting weird for a few seconds... lights dimming and looks like it's about to die... then it turned off. Then I turned it on again and it's fine... except that the cathode inverter smelled like it got burnt and the cathodes don't light up anymore.

There's a sticker on the side of the iverter that says it only works in a well ventilated case with 40 degrees Celcius of temperature. That's crazy! My case goes to about 45 degrees a full load! Can anyone please help? :(
 
If you get another inverter, i say put on the back of the case then run the wires where ever you need them. Be thankful that inverter didn't catch on fire like some of the stories I've heard.

 
Man, I've had so many inverters burn out on me in the past year. Mind you I have seven systems here running with them so it'll happen.

It was a bad inverter. Buy another cold cathode tube and keep the light for when it eventually burns out. I've never found the temperature of the cases to be much of an issue affecting them however, I found if I have two lights through one inverter its more likely to go.

For what it's worth, I bought 2 sets of dual CCFL kits yesterday from Fry's, both branded "Extreme Gamer". Yes, they were very cheap ($7.90 for dual kits).

The "red" wound up being bright pink. The "green" is a nice shade of green, but it looked like half of the inverter went out after about 10 minutes - one tube lit up fine, the other barely glowed. I swapped the one over from the pinks and it's fine now. Hadn't even owned them 2 hours when it went out.
