Cathar Blocks

If you are referring to his accident, I thought he recovered long ago. I think there are other things (like family and a real job) that might be getting in the way of his waterblock development.

i thought he had hit a material wall with the g7 proto? i saw on his site that a g8 rev would basically be impossible without space age material...

As I recall, Cathar made a claim that we were nearing the limits of water-cooling in general. I'd say the Fuzion and Storm G4(/G5/G7)- and even the Apogee GT- are pretty much as good as we'll get from a temperature standpoint, and that all future developments will be in reducing the pressure drop beyond what even the Fuzion achieved. No offense to Stew, but all of his designs were fundamentally opposed to this; if anything, they became more restrictive with each new revision. Unless he rethinks his entire approach, I don't think he'll put out anything nearly as monumental as his early designs.

He has supposedly been fiddling with TEC Chiller GPU cooling for awhile now. Hydra was what he codenamed it I think. However I think he decided to scrap that too.

he also said it is becoming quite expensive making these prototypes, he doesn't really make much cash on the blocks he makes bc the manufacturing costs are so high (or so i've heard)
