Was RDPd into this machine Sunday in the afternoon and lost connection.
When I got home that night I could smell some burning electronics but I didn't think much about it.

Got around to checking it out last night, here are the pictures.

The Molex > SSD converter completely melted.

Melted the top of the drive and left some of the power connector behind

Power supply connector that was attached to Molex > SSD power (it appears to be fine)

It was a little dusty in there but nothing too major.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? The computer still posts just fine, it detects my other 2 internal drives.

This is a OCZ RMA drive I got after my vertex 2 died back in January.

What are the chances this is a Drive failure vs something else?

I think this was both the SSD and the power supply. Is that a single rail high current supply?

Edit: Wait a minute is that a SAS connector that you are using for SATA?

No the molex and the sata cable are just melted together.
They're the same ones that came with my mobo.
