Catalyst Omega

Read the article.
Im not buying this.
A big driver release once a year with betas once in a while to essentially add game profiles.
So we can look forward to only seeing things fixed once a year.
that.....this big deal release....and no CrossFire for FarCry4.
meh AMD.....we're going back to the future.

Catalyst Omega is not the only driver that will receive bug fixes and performance updates. Beta drivers throughout the year will as well just as they've been doing for the last few years, and contain all fixes from Omega.

It appears that they are officially out.

Listed as 14.12 on the downloads page. Downloading now.

Edit: Oddly enough, the driver package installed, but the driver itself didn't. I did my usual process of simply uninstalling the old driver via Windows Programs and Features, reboot, and install new drivers (and I've never had AMD driver troubles until now). I was still stuck with Microsoft Basic Display (and it wouldn't detect any of my other monitors):

I fixed it by manually extracting the .exe with 7zip, and installing the drivers manually through Device Manager. Still kinda odd.

Edit 2: Ohhhhh. I downloaded the wrong version. Apparently they're splitting the Win 7 and Win 8 versions. I have 8.1 but I downloaded the Windows 7 version, which is why it didn't install the driver.

Damn. I was really looking forward to getting the VSR option but my 280x isn't supported. I guess the performance increase will be nice as it's free but there's really not much else to look forward to on this update.
