Catalyst Control Center will not run

Recently got a 5850 replaced with a 6870 by XFX. I have a problem, however.

Catalyst Control Center will not launch. It appears to be running in the Task Manager, MOM.exe is there and running. The drivers installed with no issues, but when I click on Catalyst Control Center, it doesn't launch.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, tried using Driver Sweeper and CCleaner to tidy up after uninstalls and installs, even tried using System Restore to take the system back a couple of weeks.

Interestingly enough, when I right click on the CCC icon in the system tray and select "About", I get an error with something about Windows Fonts.

I've posted on the AMD forums about this and received little help, aside from the suggestion that I simply reinstall Windows and start over. While that is a step that I might end up having to take, I would prefer to avoid it if at all possible.

System specs are in the signature. UNIT-04. Any further information provided upon request. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions.
