Do any of you get a loading error with the catalyst drivers? It never loaded with my 9700pro and last night I uninstalled the drivers and removed the 9700pro to install my new X850XT and the same thing is happening.

On start-up I get a pop-up that says:

cli.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.

This same error occurs if I right click my desktop and try to access the control center that way. Have any of you had the same problems? Should I uninstall the catalyst drivers and reinstall them off the catalyst cd that comes with the card??

I had the exact same problems on a new driver install for an X800xt - pe. So I unistalled drivers, ran driver cleaner pro, and then went to windows update and got microsoft .net framework. I remember hearing something that the CCC ran better with .net framework so after it installed I restarted my comp and then reinstalled the catalyst drivers. After that I didn't get the error anymore. Try that.....

Oh and make sure after you restart your comp from uninstalling the drivers that you restart windows in safe mode. Then run driver cleaner, and after it is finished go back to normal windows boot and contiue on with the process.

Yup, I get the error. It was only after a reformat and reinstall too... meh I think the control center is a waste so I'm too lazy to try and fix it :)

Cool, thanks. Where can I find driver cleaner? I'm planning a reformat after Christmas, should I just wait until I reformat, reinstall the catalyst drivers, and see if it still happens?

If you go into the video card forum on here, there is a sticky there about removing and installing new video cards. In that sticky there is a link to driver cleaner. That is where I got it from.

I got the same error after a fresh format and windows install.

installing the dotnet framework fixed it for me, there's a link on ati's driver download page

apparently it's required, but doesn't check to see if it's installed before dumping the drivers in your system :)
