Average stayed nearly the same with the 7.12's

But notice the low got 2-3FPS lower and the high was 8-12FPS higher after the first run.

Not sure how I'd interpret that....is the ~5% loss on the low worth the substantial 10%-15% gain on the high, with the average staying pretty close?

~21% increase in min FPS, ~5% increase in average and max FPS on the CPU benchmark.

That benchmark is also far closer to actual gameplay than the flyby GPU benchmark.

In Crossfire, 7.12's are teh winnar!
 
Lightmark still doesnt run right on my 3850. Crysis is still a dog. Time for a format though.

Does this include the Crysis fix that was in 7.10 (Hotfix) but not in 7.11?
 
Good news for HD2900 Crossfire owners, you can now overclock each card individually when Crossfire is enabled.

Next months Cat release will be the one to watch, to see how much of the Crossfire X makes it into that release. Hopefully AMD will see fit to allow the HD2900 users to have the multi display Crossfire along with the HD3000 series owners.
 
So what does this mean for x1950 owners? Jack shit im guessing since these cards are so last year.

Every time we have a new driver release from ATi, owners of the newest cards (I was one of those people once) for the month prior to the new driver, their talking about how the next one is going to fix w/e performance problem or shortcoming that may or may not actually be there, waiting for it like Christmas day, shaking the box when they know exactly whats coming, but still anxious since they can't know for sure. Then it comes out with the same basic performance levels as the last driver, some bug fixes, nothing real spectacular, they still get pissed off even they knew exactly what was going to hit them, an incremental update that only pleases the people with catastrophic driver related problems.

Their is no magic pill driver that makes your 2900XT do games with AA good, theirs no driver that will make your 3780 edge out a GT 512 in crysis (I know this now from 7.12 drivers).

The reason I say all this is because unlike nvidia that comes out with a new beta driver thats even more bleeding edge than the last and even farther away from being WHQL approved. ATi actually can make a driver that works properly, on a deadline, and more often than not, they actually get it right on the first or second driver release after a new card (except for gay bugs). ATi can't squeeze out any more juice because it was done right the first time.
 
Why doesnt it sound like people are so happy with these drivers? I dont have the time right now to install them (im at work) but what is the bottom line with these and Crossfire 3870's??? Anyone know? I did multiple searches and didnt really find anything about my question.... Thank you
 
I'm happy with the Crossfire gains for now. Don't exect Crossfire DX10 Crysis though, that's a job for Crytek and a game patch, not ATI.

They're ATi drivers... Can't really get too much from ATi drivers, they work, that's all I care about and my HD3870 is happy with happy drivers.
 
Is anybody noticing weird colors in firefox with these drivers? Like some of the links here on the [H] are blue?

Everything was fine with 7.11

If no one else has any problems I guess I'll go back to those.

i have the same problem in opera browser
but not in ie7

in opera i either get blue or really red colored links...

If these aren't much an improvement for single card 3870 users then I'm not going to bother installing em.
 
So far I haven't been getting any lockups with these drivers like I've been getting with 7.11!! I'm happy! :D
 
Update: after uninstalling all ati software using ATi software uninstall utility, and install them back, I don't get the wierd colors and ccc will load up fine.

Dont be upset that I called you out on your laziness. The fact is, its common forum procedure to drop at least a link, when announcing new software updates or drivers. Sure everyone can get it themselves. Its much easier for the person who makes the thread, to drop a link, and to even paste what the improvements are. Which helps people who ask questions like, "Does this include the Crysis fix that was in 7.10 (Hotfix) but not in 7.11?" such as was posted in this thread.

Still got problems running two windowed World of Warcraft clients if both are in Direct3D, flickering and after 5 minutes to 5 hours, a complete system blackout and lockup. Switch one to OpenGL and suddenly everything works out.

Think this problem lies with Blizzard since it worked before patch 2.3

No kidding......Some people want everything done for them. How cares that he didn't leave a link, how hard is it to type www.ati.com:rolleyes:
 
I also have this issue with red highlights in Google search and blue highlights on Hardforum. Had to revert to 7.11. Also, when I uninstall the ATI drivers, I have to load BIOS defaults for the first Windows XP boot otherwise after the Windows logo screen, the screen just goes blank (while the Windows load normally). Pity I had to spend an hour of resets, connecting other LCDs and a lot of nerves before finding this workaround.

Anyway, I'll try these out on my x800xt and see what happens. Hahaha
 
Good news on the stability front! All games work much smoother with less issues.

COD4 - much smoother and zero crashing
TF2 - no graphical clitches and zero crashing
Crysis - about the same

Overall I was getting random crashes during most any game and have not had one all day, which is rare.
 
Crossfire works (and works well) in Hellgate: London DX10 mode for me now too. Not sure if that's a 7.12 thing or the 0.6 patch, or both.
 
Installed my 3870 and 7.12s and everything's working fine with no problems others reported with Firefox issues. I can't report on any games issues right now, but system-wise everything seems good...
 
I'm getting the funny colors and occasional crashes while just surfing.
Memtest and small fft orthos showing no issues, nor when playing stalker.

I'm getting the funny colors but no crashes. I've decided to ignore the colors and stay with 7.12 because it seems to run COD4 much smoother than 7.11.
 
I didn't get the colors issue with 7.12. Just make sure you uninstall all drivers before installing the new ones.
 
I just used driver cleaner pro and was installing the 7.12's when I received an error saying "setup could not find a compatible driver with your hardware...will now exit".

Should i install the drivers i had, and then not use driver cleaner pro or what?

I unchecked the earthism and steam offer boxes, btw.

EDIT: The good ol' double restart fixed it. ignore that junk ^^
 
I got the famous color issue. Not a huge deal but it annoys me. Reverted back to 7.11 and all is well.
