Catalyst 6.2 DOWNLOAD

For myself (X1800XT and X1900 Crossfire), these performed MUCH better than the 6.1s.

X1800XT 512 with: 6.1 3DMark06 - 4117
X1800XT 512 with: 6.2 3DMark06 - 4432

X1900 Crossfire with 6.2 - 47**

Are those low?

Those scores are right on.

I've got an X1800 XT from ASUS and I get 4040 or so on 3Dmark06. With Cat 6.1

Oh god no. If I had that kind of Money I'd buy Monica Belluci for one night and suffer the wrath of the Wife in the Morning.

I had the X1800 in my system, ran the benchmark, then did the driver upgrade, then ran the benchmark.

Then I took out the x1800 and put in a single X1900 Crossfire (It's an XT but is the mastercard.) I may upgrade with another X1900, but I have books to buy for class next semester.

And i would take jennifer aniston over monica belluchi (whoever she is)

I got 4576 with Catalyst 6.1. Hopefully these new drivers would put me closer to 5000 :p

I wouldn't count on it...but does it matter?

No it doesnt matter but a 300 point increase has to mean something as far as performance wise and hopefully my games run faster. 300 points for me would be mean.....4876. Isn't that close enough to 5000?

Also, if you didn't notice, i said the word "Closer." I never said would get 5000

Are you using .net 1.1 and the CCC or another control app for the 6.2 drivers?

Thanks!

A quick comparo....

They are a keeper for me. Fianlly broke 6K in 3dmark06 :)
HL2, FEAR, WoW & SWG seem to all play fine.

Hey guys. I'm stuck in newly back to ATi hell. I just got my x1900xt last night. I tried these drivers and the 6.1's but I still had problems with proper resolutions for my FW900. There was nothing in the 1600*1024 or 1680*1050 range and the resolution choices were extremely limited. I took it off BNC, went back to VGA and same problem. I tried 6.1 and then installed the Omegas on top and at least I have proper resolutions. (Ati Tray tools crashes my system hard tho).

It was all rather annoying. I tried powerstrip and looking through the ATi driver but I didn't find the proper settings or override. I saw where i could force some refresh rates and so on but they weren't custom, and the thiing was still had 1600*1200 and a bunch of other 4:3 stuff but not what i was looking for. Overclocking with the Omega's, powerstrip, or ATiTool I ended up staying away from because it just had one set of clocks and seems to be just my 2d clocks.

So I can wait for 6.2 Omegas but I'd still be up for finicky overclocking. :( I just wasted too much time fiddling with this thing. What are guys doing for custome res'es and also properly overclocking the card in 3d mode?

Thank you! Will check it out later tonight and see how the games are performing. I'm still a little leary about installing all this .net jazz, though...

The 6.1's will NOT work with the X1900XT(X) cards.

Well aren't the ones on the cd slightly modded 6.1's? Anyways, I used those. I'd hope the driver cd had something usable. WIth Omega 6.1's on top. Might seem wonky, but hey, that's my best option right now.

Good question. If thats the case, than I stand corrected. You have tried the beta Catalyst 6.2 as well, to no avail?? Might be best to just wait for the final Catalyst release 6.2 if thats the case...

Yep, tried 'em. Problem is I can't get pure ATi drivers to give me proper widescreen resolutions. Only thing proper is 1920*1200. So.... maybe because I'm an ATi noob, but for NV not only did they pick up most of my settings, I could add them like nothing. Click add custom resolution, pick refresh, apply, then ok. Then all set. I see something that looks similar but it's all run by drop downs with the same crappy ass, mostly 4:3, options.

Reading the boards seems people use hosts of apps to OC etc. There is no doubt I'll get used to it and find my proper OC apps plus driver options. But it's simply impossible to argue this as well put together as Nv options. Impossible. Nv + CoolBits is miles more intuitive. Hope no ones offended but if they could give me some advice to get on the fast track of muddling through this junk I'd appreciate it.

have you tried the 'displays manager' tab in the Cat Control Center?

Does CCC properly identify your monitor?
Does the regular display properties window?
Have you tried updating the monitor driver?

If yes to all them then i'm stumped.

Just tried the 6.2 betas myself and rather impressed.

in 3d mark 2006 i have gone from 5487 to 5934. SOOOOO close to the 6k mark. Maybe when the proper 6.2's come.

And in the X3:Reunion Benchmark i get an extra 2fps average.

Huh. Wasn't expecting that at all.

Well aren't the ones on the cd slightly modded 6.1's?

The set on the CD are 5.13 package 8.203 with entries for X1900 cards.

Changes? Wonder if ATI will ever implement dual-core optimizations for OpenGL, or if they will improve the current ones for D3D.

I gained apx 200 pts from cd driver to 6.2 beta.. I have no OC on proc or mem / timings.. I have only clocked the card through the cat control center..

core / 665
mem / 797

3d05 : 9740
3d06 : 5526

with more oc'ing I hope to jump a little :)

Running my X2 4400 at 2.4ghz and my 3DMark06 score went up to 5550. I'll OC the card later tonite. Ran the overclock last night on it, using CCC, and it would just keep crashing.

Any bug fixes?

Does it fix Quake 4 Ultra quality? Anything else?

That is correct Sir!

And Monica was in the Matrix. Remember the Frenchman (Merovingian) from the Matrix: Revolutions? Well she was his hot hot wife with the beautiful .... eyes.

http://www.bellezzevip.com/attrici_italiane/monica_bellucci/monica6grande.jpg The pic is safe for work.

She also played the with in the Brothers Grimm.

Completely Off Topic, yet VERY important. I used to have some wallpapers of Monica Bellucci that were large and hi res. One in particular of here in a waterfall in her burt-day suit. Someone find? Mine! Mine!

Whack. XTX on 6.2 WHQL scored 5300 3D06 points.
Reinstalled the 6.2 beta's and I'm back at 6001 3D06 points
