oh I didn't realize that ahahaha silly me :D

The drive name actually indicates the release date. The numbers go like this.

x.y

x= year
y= month

5.9 = 2005.9th month (Sept.)

That's why the 4.x releases stopped at 4.12 and then went to 5.1.

Yeah, they release them each month, but I think I know what you mean. I thought this last month just went by freaking quickly. o_O

W T F

is up with the new download system BS from ATI?!?!

I'm not going to install some crap just to download drivers which have NEVER needed some special download delivery system

(if you hit no enough if will just give you the link)

So how do these perform?

Haven't really run any game benches, but HL2 and the Serious Sam 2/F.E.A.R. Demos all run great, just like they did before. Oddly enough, and this has never happened before when "upgrading" drivers, but I got the exact same 3DMark score as with the 5.8s. So, for me, they perform just fine.

apparently theres no more truform option in the drivers. stupid if you ask me.

Anybody besides Pandora here use truform? To be honest, I couldn't tell the difference in terms of appearance or the supposed performance hit that it caused.

well i dont use it but several of the beta testers for ati over at rage3d commented on how it isnt braking anything and since it isnt braking anything why not just leave it in the driver.

thank god they've sorted the BF2 fix.

Indeed... That sometimes got on your wick... And really want to hurt someone... or something :p

I think that error is hillarious. I dled the 5.9s, uninstalled my drivers and used Driver Clearner to wipe my system and installed them. I didnt test them too much since I had a pile of HW that day but I did play GW and DOD (I know not good testers) and noticed no image quality diffrence nor speed diffrence. I did notice that Sage TV had much better Image quality than before. So I ask.... Did the 5.9s affect my Theatrix 550 pro?

ok........i got a 180 3Dmark jump from 5.8 to 5.9 thats really good!! stock speeds.....in the 5.8 thread i said maybe the 5.9 will get me to 6000 but yet it brings me to 6150!! very satisfied!

Hmmph, yeah I got about 100 points, and I almost want to say the image quality is a bit better, but unsure....

me=stupid noob again. I grabbed the wrong cat 5.9 file the one needing .net. so instead of getting the right one i went ahead and installed .net. :mad:

I am using 5.7 right now, and I have no problems. bf2 runs great. I'm just worried that the new drivers will stop bf2 from working. Any issues with bf2?

I think im going to stick with my 5.8's and wait for a few more releases before I install a new one. As of now, it runs everything I do (including BF2) really well.

whata re yall using? in 5.8 i used CCC but this time around im using control panel just CCC takes for ever to load up

I use control panel because, even though they have improved CCC, it is still slower and more memory hungry than control panel. The extra features aren't worth it to me. In addition, .net is a resource hog that I can do without.

They gave me 49 more 3dmark2005 points, so i cant complain.

Still not at 7k though :(

ok 5.9 sucks for bf2 for me it keeps crashing to dektop

EDIT nm i was o/c my processor too much drivers work great

EDITagain - it did it again WTF

I still don't see any compelling reasons to update my drivers..there aren't any fixes i care about at all.
