Anyone know when they are going to be release and what major improvments are going to be made? Also one other things, is the new control center going to replace the old one with every new driver release or is that just a custom thing for it right now?
 
as for the date..don't know. Sometime this month (hoping for sooner...hoping for sooner!)

the control panel I believe at this point is still just a custom thing to add.
 
There is no official date at this point, but it's coming pretty soon...I can tell you that much (think 1 week). There will be a new CC with the new drivers (with several fixes).
 
Is the CC worth installing or is it better to go with just a plain driver install...?
 
The 4.9 cats are scheduled for release in the next hour! :) C3 is supposed to be fixed as far as memory usage goes.
 
anyone else getting a DLL error when you try to open the new control center?
 
the control center sucks ass IMO. It's nothing more than some colorful bloatware. I installed it on my system and not only got errors, but it was eating up 20mb of ram...even without the damned systray icon.

promptly removed the control center but the errors remained...so I re-imaged my machine...it needed it anyway. I swear if ATI makes that control center a "standard" feature I'll definately go back to Nvidia.
