I dont get the blinking shader blocks but I do get purple on certain surfaces such as the floor and pipes. I think it is where there is bump mapping in use. I was told that it may be a game glitch though. Anybody else get that?
I did some messing around and noticed it only occurs when I change settings ingame, to get rid of it I have to exit CS:S and come back in.

Wow. These results are huge. Drops the 6600gt below the x700xt or pro in my book, but thats because I'm sure there will be lots of good games using source engine, like vampires, the masquerade(spelling???) . The were basically neck a neck before, but with everyone here getting 10fps increase, the x700 series are friggin sweet lookin for Source.

Yes. A purple sheen instead of clear/white. I get it randomly, but only after multiple VST runs.

Edit: And only in the VST, never seen it in game.

Same behavior for my system (VST, not games). What's to blame, the VST or the 4.12b? I don't want to play HL2 with this psycho effect...

anyone haveing the same probelm with NFSU 2? im downloading it now and im going to pissed if i have the same problem

I have no problems playing NFSU2 ... I did d/l it at first but the game started crashing over and over again .. So i bought the game and it stopped crashing but then it started again but without the error message i was getting before ... SO i just used the nocd crack and it works fine now ..

The game is amazingly nice .. i play it at 1280x1024 maxed out with not one hiccup .. everything in the game is SMOOTH ... too smooth for comfort .. actually it's so smooth i look for problems, no luck so far... :p

how bout these drivers fixing the punk buster problem? anyone see that it was fixed?

punkbuster games in wolf ET used to constantly freeze with the 4.10's, the 4.12's totally fix this, but the roads in NFSU:2 look horrible :(

That's weird, I have a 9800Pro and I don't get any of the pixelated effects in NFSU:2 and I have been playing the shit out of it. I am also using the 4.12's.

Before (Omega 2.5.90's) :
D3 = 61 FPS
VST = 79 FPS

After (4.12's) :
D3 = 60 FPS
VST = 95 FPS

D3 @ 1600 / Ultra / 16xAF
VST @ 1600 / 6xAA / 16xAF / Reflect All

i've been seeing a lot of ppl complain about the 4.12's with nfsu2 here and on the kazaa forums. so, there is an issue. saying all they see are the tail lights or something else is f'ed up. i myself have not tested these 4.12's.

lol, also, i'm lost. wtf is vst?

The 4.12's Hosed my machine, AMD64 3500 Winchester, 9800XT
Caused tons of artifactign and VERY weird visual displays, almost pyschotropic in nature.

these driver suck i yhave a 9500pro had it o/c massivly with 4.11 and no prob installed these and boom massive artifacts everywhere even in windows

why are you guys complaining its a freakin beta driver... you know they call it beta for a reason... wake up

Not complaining, expressing an opinion. The drivers are being recommended by people showing significant bumps in performance. I posted to share my experience that I had an adverse experience with said Beta drivers hoping that someone else would think twice prior to installing them.

Complain if you want, beta or not. I havent had any issues with them, but everyones setup differs so its not hard to imagine tons of people having a lot of problems with em. If the problems get too bad, you can always go back to 4.11 which might be slow in dx9 games but still great.

4.12b has been working great for me, although my Overdrive tab has disappearded since 4.11. I use AtiTool to OC so it's not a big deal...just really odd...

HL2 playable settings:
1024x768
2x AA
Verticle Sync enabled
all high quality settings enabled

They're running great for me in all my games. Nice improvement in HL2.

Playable at 2048 / 2xAA / 16xAF, Reflect World. The buggy and hovercraft are fun :D
