cat proofing a computer

QFT.

Cats will always do what they want. If they are afraid of you then they will wait until you leave and do the thing you told them not to.

What I do to make sure that my cat does not bite on wires is very simple, I close the door to the computer room. :D

Also there is an apple (bitter) spray you can get from the pet store that keeps the cats away from the surface you srayed it on. You can use that as well on your hands especially if your cat bites and scratches too much.

The product "Apple Bitter" - which is an anti-chewing agent - was used to help train my dog to not bite on hands, shoes, chairs, couch, carpet, etc... unfortunately, he developed a taste for the bitter and started liking it... instead of chewing my hand when I sprayed it, he would sit there and lick it... DARN! - I ended up having to revert to the method that most people criticize, but it worked.... coins in a can. When you see him chewing on something, dont yell at him, dont kick him, etc.... take the can, and shake it up real good... he will eventually associate the scarey noise with the chewing, and not you.

A roll of newspaper works good on dogs, just the noise scares them more than anything. The coin can is a good one too, they hate anything irritating.

As for the bitter apple, most pets HATES it, although, there is a rare occurrence that an animal absolutely loves it.... such as you had to find out, lol.
