I want throw a hackintoshed MSI Wind u100 into a small form factor case and use it as a headless linux or osx seedbox / news podcast streamer so I can turn off my main rig and save power at night/when i'm out.

My question is what sort of case should I try to stuff it into (mATX, ITX cube, ITX). I want to be able to fit two 2.5 hard drives and a fan. It already uses an external power supply, and I wont be adding an optical drive.

Okay, noob question time... what is a seed box?

A seedbox is a small energy efficient computer meant to host a massive amount of bittorrents and stay on 24/7. They typically run headless, may or may not have vnc, but generally use a webui for adding/removing torrents. You want the seedbox to have lots of storage so that you can seed more and attain higher reputation among private 'legal' trackers.

Ah, okay. Thanks for that explanation. I learned something new. :D

An Antec ISK 300 would fit the bill nicely. 2 x 2.5" Internal HDD slots. Inside is nice and open so you can install your own motherboard if you'd like.

Wow, Mini ITX with two 2.5s. Thanks. It will fit! Appreciate the help, and it looks really neat to boot.

Have you measured how wide the motherboard is in the U100? Can't be too much wider than 170mm (mini-itx width). Judging from the size of the U100, though, it should be fine :)

Yeah, Im fine on width. The MSI Wind mobo is only 5 "-5 1/2"wide, but its 10" long. The Antec ISK 300 is 11.5" so it will do perfectly. I'll just add some stand offs to make the installation easier.
