One of the fiddliest things about physically building your own PC is connecting the little front panel connectors - the power switch, the reset switch, the HDD activity LED, the piezo speaker etc. But the block for these connectors on the motherboard is absolutely standard these days, so why don't case manufacturers provide a single connector, like USB, with pass-throughs for the components they don't provide instead of the fiddly individual connectors?

Good point. But it would be all or none. Some people may like to only have the power button connected, and the reset disconnected, or don't want the LED lights on.
The funny thing is that I've ditched front panel I/O altogether. I use a extended USB 3.0 hub on my desk and Sleep my PC.

asus has that, but at least on my R3F I can't use it because the resulting double tall plugs would hit the #2 video card

also, if this connector was on the case, what if you are working a retro project with an old board?
