Case with Power Supply

I need some help with a case/power supply unit.

I'd want at least a 400Watt PSU and a decent looking case.

The thing is, the max I can spend is about $50 (possibly $70).

I have a basic system:

Windows XP Professional SP2
AMD Athlon XP 2500+
512MB PC 3200 DDR ram
WD 250GB HDD 7200RPM
WD 80GB HDD 7200RPM
GeForce 3 Ti 200 (will have either an ATI x800 series or nVidia 6800 series to replace it once I get everything settled)

So, what are my options? I've been doing some searching, but everytime I find a good one, I get scared away by possible PSU problems. I'm no hardcore gamer, just need a somewhat reliable PC.

Thanks.

Sorry, doesn't work. Spend $50 on the power supply alone, and get a cheap case if you must - but be prepared for cuts on sharp edges, no removable motherboard tray, and crappy quality. Save up and get a lian-li PC-6 and you will be happy. Spend $70 on a case+psu and you will regret it in 3 months when you're replacing them. Believe it or not, I was working on a friend's PC just this very evening who had done just what you're contemplating, and is now replacing the case and PSU with quality parts.

Alright then, what would be a good PSU for my system (also have a DVD Burner, not sure if that makes a difference)?

Somewhere in the $30-70 range. I just figured if I'm going to be spending around that much for a PSU, might as well get a case too.

See, I have a case, just need an extra PSU.

So I guess the following case/psu blows ass? I just understand how 3000+ people would give a good rating to a bad combo.

Compare the "1 week to 1 month" reviews to the "1 month to 1 year" ones. That's how.

What motherboard?

Exactly.

You have a Socket A board. You may not NEED a super high power PSU. In fact, a high power, dual rail PSU would probably be WORSE for you.

The Enermax looks good, but it's only 300Watt. The others are too expensive for just a PSU. Are there any good 350-400Watt PSU's for like $30-50?

What type of PSU should I be looking for? Like you said an ATX12v2.0 PSU would be a bad idea, what type should I be looking for? I see I need a 20 pin, anything else?

How does this one look?

Or this one?

Feel free to make any other suggestions. Thanks again.

20 pin with single 12v rail and a high +5. A Fortron 300w is good.

How's that Rosewill? I ask only because I want to make sure I get a big enough power supply. Is 350watt enough with the components I have? What if I add a TV tuner card (cause I plan to)? Also how is this one? What exactly is a 20+4 pin? Does that mean it works with both older 20pin MB's and newer 24pin MB's?

That should be all the questions, then I can order this and my video card. Thanks again everyone, you've been a great help!

No on the Rosewill.

A big ol' YES on the Fortron :)

Ugh. What is 20+4 pin? Does that mean I can use it for either a 20pin MB or a 24pin MB?

If that's the case, then I'm getting this one.

Well that just freaking figures. They just increased the price by $7 on the CoolerMaster because of shipping.

Damn't.
