Case with no case speaker?

I have a CM RC-690. It doesnt have a case speaker for the post beeps. Is there some way to remedy this. Is there something that can be bought to add on to this?
 
Do you really need one? Who seriously needs a case speaker now days? :eek::confused: I could send you mine...they usually just snap in.
 
Hmmm. I was under the impression that you needed it for the post beeps. Just in case of errors and for the beep codes...is this not the case?
 
Many motherboards actually have an integrated buzzer on them anymore... If you really want one you can order them, though. Not that big a deal.
 
Yeah, I'm not going to worry about it. To be honest, I just thought I was missing something or wasn't doing something right. But from the replies here I can see its no big deal.
 
There are sounds that are put through that speaker that will never go out your sound card or onboard sound system. Not having that little speaker or buzzer means you will miss the sounds that can occur when the computer is unable to alert you any other way. If you think it's a good idea to ignore those warnings, forget about the speaker. If you value the $$$ you spend on the computer, put in the cheap little speaker.
 
A lot of msi boards dont have one, luckily, i had a spare, and its been useful, i would install it, its cheap and it could be very helpful.
 
Some people have a lot of money backing their "i don't care about POST beep codes" escapades, apparently.
 
Most mobos use led number/letter codes for errors now as well as having built in speakers on them.
 
I cant remember the last case i bought that had a speaker. Maybe an old antec back in like 1998 had one. MAYBE.
 
I think I got one with my motherboard a year ago. It was an Asus A8N5X I think.

Do you mean a display on the MB? - I've never seen one - can you give an example?.

Do you mean codes that display on your monitor? - what if your video card isn't capable of showing something? The value of the beeps is that they are available even if the video card is not plugged in.
 
My Antec Solo came sans speaker. I like POST beeps, so I stole one out of an old case in the attic and zip tied it in.
