Is there a free program that will let me monitor the temperature of my case? None of my fans have software.

You can try motherboard monitor . It will monitor cpu and case temps via the motherboard's bios monitoring system.

I've had mixed results with it, and it's not compatible with all mobo's, but does work just fine with 90+% of them.

SpeedFan, http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php, works great! It can monitor temps and control fan speeds according to your wishes, lowering noise.

Did software come with your mobo? Asus includes Asus Probe, which does a good job reporting temps, voltages and fan speeds.

I just installed a Cooler Master Aerogate II (cheap clearance $20-PC Club) and it has 4 temperature monitors. You could monitor anything as it comes with thermal probes that you attach - stock suggests CPU HDD etc but your not limited to those.

There are many others available, just check under fan controllers etc
