case speaker?

i made this great decision to get the Thermaltake Tsunami, and guess what? there is no case speaker!! i.e. no POST beeps and whatnot, so my question is, can i get a case speaker from anywhere?(im in Canada) or can i make one lol. im asking because im tryin to fix my PC since something happened to it, so i need to know if my mobo is working or not!
 
You can't tell if it's working by watching it try to boot? Or do you know that it isn't working and you need the beeps to tell you which error it's getting?
 
look in the FS/FT forum, just any old case speaker will work, someone might just ask shipping on it.

Even radioshack should have them. I don't know if they are 4ohm or what though.
 
Heh, when I'm doing wiremanagement, first thing I do is toss out the speaker. It's quite usless these days. You can get them anywhere, even at rat shack.

yea i need those beeps for the diagnosis. thx for the suggestions, ill see what i can find
 
Don't most new motherboards have a little speaker built in?

The last few that I have installed did anyway. I can't even think of the last case I got that had a speaker... I thought they did away with them since most new motherboards have a speaker.

Ditto... I toss them out of cases to reduce the clutter but I keep it in a box around in case I need to check beep codes for troubleshooting, which is just a matter of plugging it in the motherboard for debugging and remove it afterwards.

Newer motherboards has a integrated speaker on it, like the Intel Bad Axe 2.

Yeah, my motherboard has a case speaker built in. Just post a WTB ad in the FS/FT forums, lotsa people must have 2 or 3 extra from old dell cases or something.
 
rig up an old pair of headphones to the header. that will atleast get you going. i wouldn't worry about the ohm load or anything, for this application i don't think it even matters, but most pc speakers i've had have been 16ohm.
 
most mobos i've worked on the last few years have had built in speakers or little speakers you plug into the headers.. last time i saw a full case speaker was like in the 90s lol.
 
My asus A8N-SLi Premium says the error in my speakers in a female voice i.e. "Improper Overclocking" or "CPU fan not found" i really like it cause it tells me exaclly whats wrong instead of me having to look up the meaning behind a series of beeps.
 
Yeah - I got a Tsunami as well, and no case speaker. They are handy for noobs like myself who hook stuff up wrong. I guess I can get mine from my old dell case.
