I know this has probably been asked nearly a 1000 times. But i am trying to do a search on forums and i cannot find this. But could you please let me know what exactly are the case size specs to be considered a SFF (L x W x H)

SFF has no real definition yet. A laptop is not SFF eventhough the mobo is small and not ATX. A mid-tower that can take ATX but has an mATX mobo in it is not SFF by anyones standards.

The general notion is that it has to pass two tests 1) the mobo that can fit (at biggest) is no bigger than an mATX mobo 9.6" x 9.6" and 2) The case is under 1 cubic foot in volume.

This makes marks case not SFF by that test but does make the much larger TJ08 an SFF case...so perhaps the logic is not really there.

Seems like SFFClub and SFFTech are the only two small form factor websites and perhaps they should claim an authority on deciding which I am open to (considering I own SFFClub :p ). I personally like the volume test but I am open to ideas.

Heaven forbid logic should ever enter into any desision :eek:
 
I think I will email Shuttle, Silverstone, Apevia, PC Design Lab, Antec, and a few others and get some opinions on it and then create a standard with the authority I don't have :)

Well i have a mATX board and the case i am fabricating should end up being under or close to under 1 cu. ft.

Thanks for the info. I've seen alot of different dimesioins flying around and just wanted to be sure of a "set standard"
