Hey Guys

Finally got around to building a computer, please keep in my I am new to this and not that knowledgeable on this.

I have a few questions concerning CPU and GPU temp's and what I should be getting with my setup, and possibly if I should move my PSU from the bottom of my case to the top.

Specs:
Case:pC-A70B
CPU: Intel E8400 (slight OC to 3.6)
Headsink/fan: Zalman 9700 (copper one)(arctic silver 5)
HD:150gig WD Raptor
GPU: Evga 9800GTX
PSU: Antec quattro 1000watt
Mainboard: 780I

Now I am using real temp 2.4 to check my cpu temp's and I seem to be ideling around 36-37-38. Underload it can go up anywhere around 44-47-48, room temp is most likely around 75-78 and this case has quite a few fans and I can feel the air pushing threw it.

My GPU is running at around 60-63...Are these temps normal? Should I be getting much lower temps with this setup?

Only thing I can think of is the PSU at the bottom of the case is causing heat to rise up. Also my zalman will only fit in 2 ways on this case because of its side, if I faced it straight up it would be blocked off by the top chamber where theres a fan but can be fitted for a psu. So I had to face the fan downward facing the northbridge fan.

I have a picture I will include in this post, in the picture I had the video card in a different slot and had to end up moving it to slot 1. Since its in slot 1 now the video card is right next to the northbridge and cpu heatsink/fan. Only thing I can think of is that the zalman is sucking in the hot air coming off the gpu and pushing it onto the cpu.

Anyways, sorry for suck a long post but I wanted to make sure I get the best cooling with my setup and make sure I did everything right.

Appreciate all the future replys and thank you for taking your time to read this and help me out.;)

they're fine. enjoy your nice new rig!

*they could be lower, and ideally you'd have your zalman blowing directly into that exhaust on the back, but whatever. I'd bet money you'd be absolutely fine at 4.0, even with more voltage. a hot cpu is just fine, provided its stable.

Yeah facing it twards the rear exhaust fan or even forward would be great but due to the case design and the size of the heatsink I can only face the fan down or up. Since the video card is in slot 1 now, the cpu fan is right above it facing down right at the back of the video card where heat builds up. I could try and do a 180 with the heatsink with the fan facing up but then there's only like a 1-2inch gap between the fan and the top case chamber.

Appreciate the feedback on the temp's,
