Case scuffing...

So my computer travels around. To the neighbor's, to LAN parties at friend's houses, to school. And as a result the case badly scratched. The case in question is a Thermaltake Armor Black tower. The sides (especially the non-window side that I flip it onto to do maintenance) are gouged.

What can I do to fix this and prevent future problems? I had someone suggest the following:
- Run ScotchBrite pad
- Spray on primer
- Spray on engine enamel

Open to suggestions, try to keep it cheap though!

A good self-etching primer after a full sand-down (this gets rid of grooves).

A few thick coats of engine enamel.

Bake it

Lots of clear-coat.

Engine enamel is not cheap. Since you seem to scratch it up so much paint wont help. As it will get scratched up again. If you were not looking for real cheap, i would go and get it rhino lined, that would protect it.

What kind of engine enamel are you shopping for? I found some for $5 at Meijer... This is what my friend recommended.

Don't... It never fully dries properly, and is just a bad idea all-around. There was a large discussion on this earlier.

Engine Enamel is 5-8$ per can.

Paint can create an almost impenetrable surface if cured and applied properly.

Can I/should I put clear-coat over the enamel? Or would it be better to put clear engine enamel (which I also found at Meijer but did not buy) over the black?
